Q: Can I update the firmware of the Sigma Card ?
A: Yes, the firmware is completely updateable, we provide a tool and the newest firmware for FREE
Q: Do I need a special dongle to use the update tool ?
A: No, there is no special dongle needed, only a smartcard / simcard reader !
Q: What smartcard or simcard reader do I need to upgrade the firmware of the Sigma Card ?
A: Any USB or comport based 3.57 MHZ clocked Phenix or Smartmouse smartcard reader will work
Q: You claim your product is MUCH faster than others, can you explain why ?
A: Yes, we can, other cards base on forwarding traffic, means they are between the phone and the original card,
so even if they make full use of the speed enhancement they will need to collect data and than send the data again
and this applies for both directions... - so even if they make full use of the speed enhancement we will be 50% faster than them
Q: You claim your product is better than others on the market, can you explain why ?
A: There are many similar products on the market that claim to be as good or even better than the SIGMA, they all base on
forwarding traffic between the phone and simcard - that is the main difference between them and us.
Q: Are there any problems related to forwarding traffic ?
A: YES, you loose performance (speed) as well as you open the door for a lot of secondary problems because of frame or timing errors !
Even if those products are looking to work well in the beginning a lot of issues can arise later !
Examples:
- Phones that restart because of bad or incomplete implementation of the protocol
- Freezing phones because of bad or incomplete implementation of the protocol
- Phones that loose connections because of bad or incomplete implementation of the protocol
- Certain features of the simcard are not working well or not at all (GPRS, 3G, Edge...)
Those are the reasons why they need(ed) so many updates of their firmware in the past and they are still not perfect.

 Sigma X Sim Advanced Config ModesTo change the operation mode of your Sigma card insert it together with a simcard that got a 4 to 7 digit pin code activated to your phone
(can be a locked or unlocked phone - both are ok) and power the phone on, the phone will ask you as usual for the pin code,
enter your 4 digit pincode followed by the special 4 digit operation mode and press enter, sigma will from now on work in this mode,
if you want to change the operation mode just repeat this operation.
The 4 digit decimal operation mode defines which imsi reads get replaced by the SIGMA X-SIM
The operation mode will be converted to a 13 bit mask by the Sigma card
Examples:
0000 = No read will be altered (SIGMA is basically deactivated in this mode)
0001 = The first read will be replaced (Most Nokia, Samsung, Motorola...)
0002 = The second read will be replaced (Few Nokia models, especiall N Series)
0003 = The first two reads will be replaced
0004 = The third read will be replaced
8185 = For most sharp models (this is the default configuration)
8191 = TMSI mode (patch all imsi reads)
